It is best to spend at least two days; however, if you only have one day, I suggest you pick a private tour so you can choose your own itinerary.

Staying inside Yellowstone National Park can get pricey, and there might not be many choices for accommodation. During the summer, lodging and camping within the park can be fully booked months ahead. Camping, of course, being the cheapest option.

There aren’t any towns between the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, but just south of Grand Teton National Park is the adorable town of Jackson, Wyoming. To get to Yellowstone from Jackson, you have to go through its neighboring park. Other entrance towns like Bozeman to the north and West Yellowstone in the west will be a much longer drive to the edge of the Tetons.
Jackson Hole is about 57 miles south of Yellowstone National Park. It’s a great place to start your adventure in Yellowstone, just a 1.5 – 2 hour drive from the south entrance.
Be ready for windy roads and possible delays because of buffalo herds, construction, or accidents. And keep in mind that some roads might be closed during winter.
