Best Time to Visit Pai Canyon

Best Season to Visit Pai Canyon

The best time to visit Pai is during the dry season (November-April). This way, you can avoid any rain or muddy trails. And trust me, they can be quite narrow and steep at times.

Best Time to Visit Pai Canyon: The Sunsets!

Pai Canyon is renowned among travelers for its remarkable sunsets, casting a mesmerizing reddish glow that reflects off the canyon walls during golden hour.

Tip #1: Remember, temperatures can drop quickly as soon as the sun sets during colder months of winter. To stay warm on your scooter ride home, make sure to bring a jacket!

Tip #2: At sunset, the canyon can get quite busy; making it hard to take a picture without anyone in the background or needing to queue to pass the walking path. So come a little bit early to find a good spot!

What to expect: Tips for Visiting Pai Canyon

Once you pull into the parking lot entrance, you can find stalls selling food and drinks, souvenirs, and a toilet.

Is Pai Canyon free?

Surprisingly, there is no entrance fee for Pai Canyon. So just park your scooter and start heading up the paved stair trail for an easy 5-minute walk to the first viewpoint at the top of the canyon.

How Long is Pai Canyon hike?

As the canyon itself is not that big, it should take you at most 15 minutes short one-way hike to the furthest points of the attraction.

Continue further down the ridge to reach the more secluded spots where fewer people go. There are several gorgeous views along the way where you can stop and capture some great shots of the surrounding landscape.

Be Careful!

Please note that these canyon trails can be quite dusty, and have deep cliff drops with no protection. While trekking along the trail, some steeper areas may also be slippery.

Exercise caution and probably don’t be like my friend that wore a white dress and high heels to Pai Canyon.
